“I set up eve expeditions to provide empowering and educational eco-holidays and experiences for families, groups and individuals to help us all connect with nature and protect our planet.

Helen Littlejohn, Founder, eve expeditions

our story

Welcome to eve expeditions! So who are we?

eve – protecting the planet
eve – the eve of something better

Like you, we have been so aware of the huge media coverage in the last couple of years of the impact we are having on our planet.

eve expeditions was set up to provide empowering, educational, low-cost and flexible experiences and holidays for families, schools, groups and individuals.

Our team have decades of experience organizing adventure holidays, school expeditions and holiday camps from being teachers, expeditions leaders, field study tutors to Duke of Edinburgh Award leaders. If you’re interested in joining us or leading for us please get in touch!

Each holiday or experience has:

  • an education element, enabling you to learn about climate change and giving you ideas to try out at home
  • enables you to take part in a litter pick (either on land or on the water)
  • uses only sustainable accommodation or suppliers who are actively reducing their carbon footprint
  • an experienced leader who is passionate about the environment and climate change

So come and join us and help make a difference on holiday… and at home.

about Helen

As a child I was always interested in the outdoors, camping outside in the back garden and climbing mountains with my family; my Dad used to sell water purification systems to Africa, so sparked my interest in travelling and working with people around the world.

After university I worked for a charity lobbying parliament on conservation issues and leading conservation holidays in the UK and abroad for the National Trust and The Conservation Volunteers. I went off round the world on my own, working for the Department of Conservation in New Zealand and doing lots of trekking in Nepal. Still with itchy feet I got a job with an adventure travel company leading and managing adventure holidays around the world, including spending 6 months in Morocco with the Berber tribes and taking groups overland across Nepal and Tibet.

After so much time on the road, I came back and settled by the sea in Portsmouth teaching outdoor education, running the Duke of Edinburgh Award expeditions in the UK and abroad, charity challenges and doing lots of mountain and kayaking adventures with my young family.

I wanted to create a community interest company which would bring together like-minded people to organise opportunities for families, individuals and groups to connect with nature and make a difference to our plant.

So if you feel you share the same values either as an accommodation provider, third party supplier or freelance instructor then we would love to hear from you.
